I read all these responses and people say my dermatologist gave me this and that for rosacea but i don’t understand why he didn’t give me anything he just told me to use sunscreen. he also told me there is no cure for rosacea but I understand that.. but why didn’t he give me something to control it. I am 14 and I am afraid my condition will worsen but how can I take care of this problem and I have been trying to convince my parents to let me have a laser surgery done but is it worth going throw all that hassle? and will it get rid of it completly. I wake up every morning and I have to apply foundation to my face. I feel very embarressed when I go to school since people are like, your face is red! I just kind of play it off even though inside I feel will it ever go away? I am just really confused..does anyone have any suggestions or any advice on my rosacea skin condition?
I have rosacea also. Like you, I had it while in school; unlike you, I did not know what it was. A friend of mine said her husband (a doc.) had written her a prescription for Metro-Gel to put on her face. I asked him about it for myself and he also gave me a prescription. I don’t know why your doctor did not give you Metro-Gel; that is the topical medication used in most cases. Also, you might ask your doctor for a prescription of Tectrocytraline (sp.?)which is an antibiotic that sometimes helps the inflammation. The Metro-Gel also helps with the redness and any breaking out or flaking around the nose you may have.
Your diet can also contribute to the severity of the rosacea. Very spicy hot peppery foods tends to aggravate the symptoms.
There is a make-up made especially for people with rosacea and other skin problems called Derm-a-blend. You can get it at places like Belks, Hechts, etc. Also, and very important switch your makeup and cleansers to Clinque(spelling is alittle off). They are the number one doctor suggested make-up and cleansers on the market.
I hope this helps.

I am a 16-year-old female, and I have skin which is quite abnormal looking.
My pores are large and clogged, (and by large I mean VERY large,) and my skin is very oily, freckled, red, and blotchy. I have tried just about every product on the market, and I am never okay with cheap, drugstore brands. I cleanse at least twice a day, keep my skin well moisturized, exfoliate four to five times a week, and use a pore-refining mask once a week, meaning I know a lot about skin care and I take very good care of my skin. I think I may have rosacea, and I’ve tried everything to combat the redness, including lemon juice, vinegar, egg-white masks, and even an at-home yogurt facial peel.
No matter what I try, my skin is always oily, red and disgusting. It’s driving me insane.
I’ve begged and pleaded with my parents to let me go to the dermatologist, but they don’t believe in my vain ways, and dismiss it as unnecessary. I have OCD, and they’ve pretty much linked it to that, seeing my problem as merely psychiatric. But what they don’t understand is that I’m feeling so insecure that it’s making me CRAZY.
What should I do?!
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I had the same problem, I use a glycolic mask that I purchase on HSN by the Serious Skincare line, and it costs $20.00 for the jar. This stuff works great!!! Your skin will look nice after just one application.

Okay so I think I might have Rosacea…and I want to get rid of it…
So, do you know any cremes I could use?
I have very sensitive skin too…
I just want the pimples and redness to go away
please help!
thanks
First of all rosacea is a certain skin type not skin condition and there isn’t anything you can put on your skin that is going to make it go away. Skin types are genetic therefore, you cannot change them if you were born with sensitive skin then you will always have senitive skin. However, you can go through series of light therapy that can keep your rosacea at bay. But those types of treatments can be very expensive. Go to a dermatologist and check what type of light therapies they offer for rosacea.

http://www.TheCosmeticsCampus.com -Lisa Liddiard, a cosmetic coach shares her video response to a question from Leslee who asks how to hide Rosacea and redness with makeup.
Rosacea and redness is actually very common. More and more people are complaining of the same issues.
Today in the cosmetic and skin care arena there is much to be had to fixing the problem.
Using a natural skin care and cosmetic line will do wonders in improving the look and appearance of Rosacea. Chemicals and synthetic ingredients wreck havoc on skin and that is the major cause.
I suggest you first check your ingredient labels and make sure you clean out and replace your skin care and make up line.
Switch to a natural skin care and Mineral Makeup line. To find out what I use and recommend, go to http://www.TheCosmeticCampus.com and you will see.
To cover or hide the appearance of Rosacea and redness with your cosmetics here is what I teach.
If you’re an artist or know ‘the color wheel’ what counteracts or hides redness is GREEN. It sounds weird, but it’s true.
You can use a green powder or liquid that can be applied to the skin under your foundation. I recommend a green powder. To see the one I recommend, go to http://www.TheCosmeticsCampus.com and click over on the skin care line and find a product called ‘Personalizer’.
If you use a Mineral Makeup line, you’re in luck. Mineral makeup is formulated to hide and cover the appearance of flaws so much more so than traditional makeup.
Just take your kabuki brush, swirl in the product, tap off the brush so the extra goes deep into the bristles, then apply in small circles all over your face. Start at the outer edges and work your way in. Repeat if you want more coverage.
Then, depending on the severity of your Rosacea -redness, take a small foundation brush, dip that into your mineral powder foundation and ’spot’ apply into those areas that need a bit extra work.
Combining good skin care, mineral makeup and a little application technique will work wonders and in a few weeks you should see a total transformation.
See you on the inside!
